Make Music Day 2021
Make Music Day is a global, open-door celebration that invites anyone, from seasoned pros to first-time strummers to fill their city with free, live music on the first day of summer. What began in France as Fête de la Musique now echoes in more than 750 cities worldwide; last year alone, over 5,000 free concerts sprang up in 175+ U.S. communities.
This summer, Waco is joining the chorus. From 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, music will pop up on sidewalks, storefronts, patios, and parks across town, culminating in a sunset finale on the historic Waco Suspension Bridge in Indian Springs Park. Imagine the Brazos River as your backdrop while our community comes together in one joyful, city-wide jam.
We’d love for your organization to be part of the soundtrack. You can:
- Perform: solo, ensemble, choir, band, bucket drummers- anything goes.
- Host a location: offer a stoop, lobby, patio, or green space for musicians.
- Collaborate: pair up with local talent, run an all-ages sing-along, lead a Kazoo choir, the possibilities are endless.
