New “Cycling in Waco” Map!
Several months ago, Dave Morrow and representatives of the Waco Bicycling Club approached us about producing a new “Cycling in Waco” map. This would be a map of the best roads and routes for road bikes. We loved the idea because visitors to Waco often come here to bike the trails of Cameron Park, and we needed a way to tell them about the excellent road biking routes. The map can be useful to both local bike riders and out-of-towners, and is free of charge. It is being printed now, and will be available in early May at the Tourist Information Center, 106 Texas Ranger Trail, and at the Waco Parks and Recreation Department at 201 W. Waco Drive. It is also available on our website at https://destinationwaco.org/plan/visitors-guide-and-map/
The map was a joint project, with involvement from Chelsea Phlegar of the City of Waco Planning Department and Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization, who worked with the Waco Bicycling Club to come up with the best routes. The final version was also looked at by Kim Jennings of the Waco Parks & Recreation Department, who reviewed the parks listed on the maps for accuracy.
