Schmaltz’s Sandwich Shoppe – downtown

Schmaltz’s Sandwich Shoppe opened in 1975 on the Baylor campus in Waco, Texas. It soon became popular with the students and the following year opened a second location in downtown Waco, followed by a third on Vally Mills Drive. The Baylor location closed in 1982.

The secret to the longevity of Schmaltz’s is the bread. Our oven-toasted artisan bread is made by hand every day with a crunchy crust and a soft, airy center. Available in original and whole-wheat.

Our menu items have grown over the years to include a variety of sandwich toppings, soups, salads and even a selection of low fat sandwiches. Additional location on North Valley Mills Drive. Closed Saturday and Sunday.
