WAyCOol House

8 Guests | 4 Bedrooms | 5 Beds | 3 Baths

About this space

Built in 1954, this charmer is in a quiet neighborhood, set back from the street with a big grassy yard and mature landscaping (huge shade tree in the backyard!) plus beautiful original hardwood floors. With that as the base, we have completely renovated it to fit today’s style with a modern farmhouse vibe and updated amenities! 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms (including a relaxing soaker tub). All furniture/linens/beds/utensils were purchased specifically for a comfortable vacation house.

The space

A comfortable home with the vacationer in mind. We use this house as our own family vacation spot so we found pieces that would be comfortable and relaxing and make us feel like we were on vacay in Waco but with a home away from home” feel. It’s Texas, but not TOO western. It has a cool, casual, comfortable, contemporary country vibe with a touch of cow and cactus charm… if you will! We have added a new concrete driveway and carport to keep your cars covered rain and shine. A well-appointed kitchen, spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds (Zinus memory foam mattresses and guests always rave about their great night’s sleep.), a big living room with an amazing denim sectional couch (guests love it and ask where they can find one for themselves, sorry I don’t know the brand though!), a dining area that seats 6 for meals or board games, nice size bathrooms with shampoo/conditioner, stocked laundry room, and a big private backyard with covered patio seating, outdoor lights, hammock, and a propane grill. The TV console has a great ambient fire light and the large screen Roku tv ready to stream your Netflix, Hulu, etc. Free wifi, of course. Touches of Magnolia through the house with candles, magazines, and other finds from “The Little Shop on Bosque”, their original Magnolia location and now outlet store which is just around the corner and across the street from our place.

important note: the AC works great, but please DO NOT put it lower than 70 degrees. otherwise, it can overwork, freeze up, and shut down. it cools the house well and we usually need a throw blanket by the time it gets down to 72. there are ceiling fans in each room to help with circulation as well.

Guest access

Keyless entry to the “entry room” off of the driveway. We will message you the door code on the day of your stay. Once inside the house, there is a set of keys to all doors for additional entries.

Other things to note

We provide coffee, tea, sugar, and cream. In the fridge is a pitcher of cold water. There are spices, olive oil, and non-stick spray in the pantry. we try to provide necessities and a few extras to welcome you! The kitchen is stocked with cooking supplies for basic breakfasts and dinners like a taco night, but is not equipped for a full-on Thanksgiving feast. There is a propane grill on the back patio. With so many great places to eat and enjoy in town though, we hope you will go out and experience those too!

We have a laundry room stocked with detergent, bleach, and dryer sheets for the washer and dryer. In the laundry room, you will also find a cooler and four camp chairs to use on your adventures (swimming holes, waterparks, picnics, tailgating, etc.), beach towels, and lawn games.

the bathrooms have shampoo/conditioner/body wash. the soaker tub has bath bombs and a Magnolia candle for a truly relaxing bath.
