Take a Hike

Nestled comfortably along the banks of the Brazos River are some of the most popular hiking and biking trails in Texas. The Cameron Park Trail System has been designated a National Recreation Trail. Trails wind throughout the woods, bluffs, and creeks of Cameron Park, and are ranked according to difficulty. You can choose to take a leisurely stroll on along the river walk or the Rinky Dink trail; push yourself a little more on the intermediate trails like the Vortex, or make it a really challenging excursion on the double back diamond trails like Thor. The trails are great for hiking or biking, and Fido is welcome to join you on your journey.

Whichever trail you choose, take your camera along to capture memories. Be sure to take some water and wear comfortable shoes. Worried about getting lost? There’s an app for that! You can find a link to download the Cameron Park App, maps of the park, points of interest, and other Cameron Park information by clicking here.

In addition to the trails at Cameron Park, the Heart of Texas is home to several other trails. Some local favorites include the Waco Dam Trail, Cotton Belt Trail, Lake Waco Wetlands, Corps of Engineers Parks at Lake Waco, Brazos Park East, or one of the many neighborhood parks.
