Love and Life

Join NAVE Voices for a free, choral concert entitled “Love & Life” at St. Francis on the Brazos Catholic church, Friday, June 26th at 6:30pm.

Founded in 2012, NAVE is a multi-generational ensemble from 10 states whose membership reflects a rich diversity of ages, races, cultures, and life experiences. The singers come from a wide array of professional backgrounds – scientists, engineers, educators, healthcare workers, and more – most of whom do not work in music as a primary career. This diversity is central to their identity: it shapes not only the sound of the ensemble, but also the perspectives they bring to interpretation, collaboration, and community-building. By intentionally creating space for singers of different generations and backgrounds to engage as equals, they foster an environment where lived experience informs artistry, and where musical dialogue becomes a means of cultural and interpersonal connection.

The FREE, 30-minute, Friday evening performance will feature choral music from the Renaissance through the Modern period. Visit the Choir’s website at navevoices.org, follow them on social media, and subscribe to their Youtube channel: Navevoices.

Dr. Bonnie Borshay Sneed, the former Director of Choirs at McLennan Community College, is NAVE’s Founder and Conductor. They had their Carnegie Hall debut in 2014, and have performed at major cathedrals in Europe and the US. Dr. Sneed taught at MCC for 11 years and also conducted the Southwestern University Choirs in Georgetown in 2024-25.
