Sports Planners

Waco hosts sporting events year-round due to its warm climate and central location within the state. Regional, multi-state tournaments are also well suited to the area because 18 million people live within a 3-hour driving radius.

Waco is located on Interstate 35, the “Main Street of Texas,” which runs from Laredo, Texas up to Duluth, Minnesota. The area is served by American Airlines regional jets at the Waco Regional Airport. Many sports venues are located on the Baylor University campus, from equestrian facilities to McLane Stadium (football) to the Foster Pavilion (basketball).

Waco is home to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, Dr Pepper Museum, Texas Ranger Museum, Cameron Park Zoo, Waco Mammoth National Monument, and Magnolia Market.

The Greater Waco Sports Commission works in tandem with the Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau to serve the needs of the sporting event planner.
